Welcome to Creatures and Cabins.

I initially began this blog as a way to chronicle my journey as an aspiring author, with big plans of intricately worded posts that spoke to the craft of writing as I attempted to perfect my skills. It became very evident within the first year that I knew absolutely nothing about writing, and the thought of sitting in front my laptop, staring at a blank page, willing some inspirational phrases into existence, was not how I wanted to spend my time. It also made for very dull posts that seemed to have no point whatsoever - if, by chance, you stumbled across this blog and read any of those early posts; I am so sorry.

Although this blog will still contain posts that speak to my writing journey, my current projects, and other related material in the world of ink and prose; I honestly just want to have a platform (whether anyone ever sees it or not) to place my thoughts when they begin to over-crowd my mind. You may find some of the posts to be inspirational, thought provoking, or just down-right nonsensical works of fiction. But they are my words, my ideas, my thoughts; the creatures that lurk inside my cabin, knocking over lampshades and scratching at the floorboards.

"Why not just get a notebook and leave us out of the equation", great question, thank you for asking. This blog is a creative outlet, a brain-dump, a reason for me to get outside and take photos of the world, and a method of exploring my own inner workings. You can read what resonates, and leave the rest to the ether of the internet. I won't be offended if you hate every word, every poorly constructed sentence; I'm probably over-analyzing the same sentence anyways.
